Facebook Scam: Aaron Simon Facebook giveaways

A Facebook page for a fake person named Aaron Simon claims that Facebook users can win money for liking his posts, sharing his posts, liking his page, and commenting on his posts. This is false. This is a typical like-farming scam; However, recent reports indicate that this is also an advance-payment scam. No one will receive a prize for following instructions provided by the Aaron Simon Facebook page.

This used to be a harmless like-farming scam, but many users are now reporting that the profile will send them private messages or even call them at home telling them that they won. The fake Facebook user will then ask victims to send him money or for more personal information. The Aaron Simon Facebook scam is designed to gather Facebook likes, most likely for marketing purposes and web traffic. Like-farming Facebook scams are usually harmless; However, many may direct Facebook users to third-party websites that host malware and perform automatic web attacks capable of hijacking a users Facebook profile and posting on their behalf.

The Aaron Simon scam does not appear to direct users to malicious websites. The Aaron Simon Facebook page seems to be a Facebook page that wishes to share viral web content. The Aaron Simon scam is designed to gather more views for the potential viral content using unethical and dishonest marketing tactics and techniques.

The same people who made the fake Aaron Simon Facebook persona have created many fake Facebook pages in the past associated with like-farming scams, including a fake person named Jordan Embry.

These unethical marketing tactics are illegal for companies and realistic public figures. This practice may also lead to Facebook deleting the Aaron Simon Facebook page.

In conclusion, if you notice a post by Aaron Simon claiming that you can win a certain amount of money, ignore it. Report it to Facebook if you wish. These types of scams do not do anyone any good.

I too was contacted by Aaron Simon saying I won $100.000 but I needed to send 299.00. Said I could not tell anyone about it as you could not trust people today. I had to go do it right away. Told him I had to wait for my fiance to get off duty as he is a police officer and guess what I can not pm him anymore he blocked me…imagine that. I think they are using the names of Aubrey Harper, Jordan Embrey and Michael Chitwood .

  11. I was messaged a couple of hours ago and he told me that I had won $500,000. I have called my local t.v.station hotline and left a message about him. I am just waiting to hear back from someone at the t.v. station to see if this is legit. I have not given out any personal information on myself. This really sounds too good to be true. Anyone else got information on this? Please reply.

  14. I have been sharing Aaron's Simons photos of cash giveaways as well, but today I noticed that he shared a photo from another public wealthy figure and when I got curious and checked the other profile it has a lot of same pictures Aaron uses. So I posted my suspicions on Asrons photos that his site was not real. Then I researched and found this article. This profile and others like them need banned from Facebook.
