Facebook Scam: Facebook Rewards program
The Facebook Rewards program is a scam that operates by sending fraudulent email and Facebook messages to Facebook users stating that they won a cash price; However, there is NO Facebook lottery, Facebook Rewards Program, or other promotional hand-out.
The scammers will ask Facebook users to send them a fee such as a “delivery,” “shipping,” or “tax” charge and/or direct victims to malicious websites. But there is no lottery and no prize to be aquired. The scam artists will take the money from the victims and completely disappear.
This scam is also designed to collect manually submitted user information, including full names, home addresses, and more.
