Facebook Scam: Free Primark Vouchers
A scam that is circulating on Facebook that claims to give away Free Primark Vouchers if a Facebook user completes a survey. The scam states that users who complete a survey can redeem a free £500 Primark voucher (or other amount and currency); However, this is a lie.
This is a common Facebook scam that scam artists use to infect computer systems with malware and acquire sensitive information. If a Facebook user clicks a link provided in the spam post, their Facebook accounts may become hijacked and the spam post will then be circulated on the compromised account user’s behalf. Clicking the links may also direct users to a never-ending and fraudulent survey meant to gather manually submitted user information, including full names, home addresses, telephone numbers, and more.

Primark is aware of this scam and has issues the following statement on Facebook:
PLEASE READ: There are pages on Facebook offering £500 Primark vouchers for free – they are fake, please do not click on them!
We’re working with Facebook to remove them as quickly as possible. If you think you may have entered your details, changing your Facebook password is recommended.

- Change your Facebook password (located in your Facebook Settings) and make sure to log out of every device when prompted to.
- Remove suspicious Facebook Apps (Settings > Apps).
