Facebook Scam: Jordan Embry giveaways

A Facebook page for a person named Jordan Embry claims that Facebook users can receive $20,000 (or other amount) by liking his post, sharing his post, liking his page, and commenting on his posts. This is false. This is a typical like-farming scam (also known as a like-who*ing scam). No one will receive a prize for following instructions provided by the Jordan Embry Facebook page.

It’s a harmless scam, but a scam none the less. The Jordan Embry Facebook scam is designed to gather Facebook likes, most likely for marketing purposes and attention. Like-farming Facebook scams are usually harmless; However, many may direct Facebook users to third-party websites that host malware and perform automatic web attacks capable of hijacking a users Facebook profile.

The Jordan Embry scam does not appear to direct users to malicious websites. The Jordan Embry Facebook page seems to be a Facebook page that wishes to share potential viral content. The Jordan Embry scam is designed to gather more views using unethical and dishonest marketing tactics.

These unethical marketing tactics are illegal for companies and realistic public figures. This practice may also lead to Facebook deleting the Jordan Embry Facebook page.

I tried to post this link to the thousands of people following his directions and Facebook blocks me LOL

  2. Girl, I was disciplined BY FACEBOOK for reporting him and leaving comments all over the page. These fools don't care about innocent people's bank accounts being hacked. Ugh. Still, I won't stop fighting evil in the world!

Snopes completely stole this article from you. They even used your images and had a link to your website in the article but realized it and deleted it.

    • Got two yesterday. The same scam came in my newsfeed from both. Either it’s the same guy or they are working scams together. But the article above says it’s a harmless scam. Obviously hasn’t read the comments of desperate people getting their hopes up.

How can we get this info on to FB where everyone can see it and not be mislead by this jerk. There are so many people needing money for whatever causes, Why doesn’t FB shut this down? If we can just get this info out, I believe it will take care of its self, I am in, just tell me what I need to do. I my opinion this is a very sick way to gather likes, It builds up hope, just to be let down, Sorry SOB in my book.

  5. Sarah Jean I was leaving comments and responding to other comments and then realized I was just increasing the activity of his page and no one was paying attention to the links I posted. So now I just respond to the fb friend that shared and it stops the activity on that end.

  6. Sarah Jean I believe it. All FB cares about is traffic. And the people who believe this crap don't want to hear the truth. They are the kind of people who never look anything up and spam others both on fb and sometimes in email. My patience is really low for this type of thing. There is absolutely no reason to not be informed when you can just google it.

so what can be done here….in my personal opinion like farming with the use of cute videos or funny pictures is one thing, but the use of deception in the form of cash prizes for liking is beyond atrocious….so legally what can be done to not only shut this site down but make this bugger pay? reporting to facebook does absolutely nothing …..i mean is this something you can report to the irs? the gaming control board?

Why can’t facebook just shut him, Jonathan Embry, Jordan Embry, Preston Parker, Aaron Simon, Aden Simon down. They seem to be the same person. Guess they get off on getting needyou people’s hopes up. Should be made to put their money where their mouth is. That would be good punishment.
