Facebook Scam: Teen Girl Commited Suicide Just After Dad Seen Her While Doing This on Cam

There is a new Facebook scam circulating on the social network that spams an image of a half-nude female and says something similar to “Teen Girl Committed Suicide Just After Dad Seen Her While Doing This on Cam.”

The image claims to contain a link to a video, although it is really just a click-bait scam designed to persuade Facebook users to click the malicious hyperlink. Once the image or link provided is clicked the user’s Facebook account may become compromised and the user’s computer may become infected with malware and viruses. Additional Facebook Applications may also be installed that have permission to access and collect user information, including information about the accounts Facebook friends.

This Facebook scam hijackers Facebook accounts in order to circulate the threat on Facebook. Once an account is hijacked, scammers will begin to post the image of the half-nude girl with her “rear end” showing in the mirror behind her on the user’s behalf.

Solution:

If your Facebook account has been hijacked by this scam please see the recommended steps below.

  • Change your Facebook password (located in your Facebook Settings) and make sure to log out of every device when prompted to.

  • Remove suspicious Facebook Apps (Settings > Apps).
  • If you believe your computer is infected with malware we recommend to download and install reputable Anti-Malware software such as Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. Once installed, update the software, and run a scan for malicious files. *This software is available free or as a full version.
